Welcome to Sea of Coffee
Sea of Coffee is an independent coffee shop situated in the heart of St Ives.
We opened the business at the end of March 2022, with a view to creating a positive space for those who want to escape the everyday and enjoy the cafes atmosphere and motto – “Coffee and Life”.
We have a great seating area accessible to all on the ground floor along with a lovely coffee lounge upstairs. Both areas offer the ideal place to relax, unwind or catch up with friends, with a bite to eat and something to drink. We have a great team who offer a warm welcome with a friendly smile and will engage in conversation with everyone. Some of our regular characters to the coffee shop, also love to interact and can usually be found engaging in chats with both staff and other customers, which we encourage to create a real community vibe.
We serve food all day, with a selection of Breakfast Baps and Wraps, Toasties, Paninis, Wraps, Sandwiches, Salad Boxes and Seasonal Soups, some of which are Gluten and Vegan options. We love a good Seasonal Special so keep an eye out for our offers on Facebook or Instagram and our picnic boxes available year round. We are also now selling a range of Alcoholic drinks including Cocktails and Liqueur Coffees/Hot Chocolates.
Coffee
Our delicious coffee is from Olfactory Roastery, a local roaster based in Penryn Cornwall.
Gluten Free Cakes
We stock a variety of “sweet delights” from BB’s Bakery, all of which are Gluten Free, with some Dairy Free and Vegan options.
Made in store
Along with delicious Gluten/Dairy Free and Vegan Cake options from BB’s bakery we also make a range of Cakes and Tray Bakes in house; which allows us the opportunity to regularly change our offering.
We also offer a range of savoury foods, including:- Breakfast Baps and Wraps, Toasties, Paninis, Wraps, Sandwiches, Salad Boxes and Seasonal Soups, some of which are Gluten and Vegan options.. All of which are made in store and packaged ready for those who have a busy day, want to dine in or want to head straight to the beach.

We use a range of local suppliers, to support our delivery ie:- St Ives Food, The Cornish Crab Company, Cornhill Farm, Olfactory, BB’s Bakery, LWC, West Country, Dole Food and Bidfood.
Dog friendly?
Yes, we love to have visitors of the 4-legged variety, although we do ask that they remain on the floor and not on the furniture.

To be a diverse café, that caters for all aspect of the town’s population. Serving great products with passion at speed, creating a strong coffee culture and a great brand.
History of Frankie
Having myself been brought up in St Ives, I lived in a guest house for 12 years and started work at a young age as a chambermaid at our guest house and others in the area. This led to shop, bar and restaurant work over many years until I left for university where I achieved a degree in ceramics. On my return to Cornwall, I continued with my ceramic work, but then got a fulltime place with Costa coffee who were opening their first branch in Penzance. I became assistant manager within 3 months and store manager by 6 months of them opening. As my passion for coffee grew, so did my experience for running a business. Following several years in that store I began supporting the other stores and area managers. Following just 6 months off with my first child I returned to Costa to begin opening the first Drive Thru Costa in Cornwall, in Penzance. I believe that the coffee culture has grown so much over the years and customers now expect quality coffee at speed, whether it be to stay in or to take away, with exceptional service. Having been with Costa for 13 years now, I have outgrown the company and store and need to give myself a challenge that will stretch my abilities.
Location
We are located on the High Street, in St Ives, Cornwall (opposite Boots) making for easy access. You will find us on the way through from and to the car parks or buses making it the perfect stop on the way to or from the shops and the beach.
Order & take away
All our food and drinks can be taken away and available for pre-order if you are planning your day out. We also have a range of reusable travel cups, available for purchase with an option of being more sustainable.
